A Christian honor killing? Perhaps it's culture, not religion, after all.

This doesn't surprise me at all. It's long been the standard party line in the social sciences that culture affects religion more than the other way around. And honor killings of various kinds have a history all around the Mediterranean basin.
I'm sure the usual suspects will find a way to blame it on Islam though.

you best believe it that Islam has something to do with the deplorable state of affairs of women in those countries blighted by this false Creed.

If Issssslam is so great and uplifting why has it not eradicated these barbaric practices of honor killings of women after all this thousands of years. The simple reason is because the tenets of isssslam sanctions it.

Additionally , you should understand that Isssslam ( Ahl-ul-Ssunah wa Jama'ah ) is a persistent form of old testamental christianity. The abrahamic religions are not especially notorious for championing women's rights. Why, you friendly 10 commandments which are so highly touted by christian fundamentalists are replete with sexism and chauvinism...one is commanded not to covet one's neighbours goods : ...oxen, wife, goats etc..... putting women squarely in her place as chattel !!!.

....and need i remind you of the prayers uttered by sanctimonious pharasees who brazenly thank God for not making them women, gentiles etc. etc...???
